Ross and Jeannine-Vow Renewal at Waimanalo Beach

These are my favorites from the last of the batch from Ross and Jeannine's vow renewal on Waimanalo Beach. These manage to capture the emotion they obviously have for each other. I hope Scott and I will have that tenderness when we've been together for another 5 years.

Oh, the water's going to wipe out my heart

    And baby makes three

I wonder how they enjoyed the rest of their vacation on the Big Island. They said they were going to explore Kilauea Volcano National Park. That is one of my favorite parts of the Big Island, no, it's one of my favorite parts in the entire state.

I had a wedding planned for October 1st but they've moved it until December. So my next two weddings are not for two weeks. Tune in this week for images from my session with 7 month old HB and 5 month old twin girls.

Sneak Peak-Ross and Jeannine Vow Renewal

I think I mentioned it already, but Scott had a request to do a surprise vow renewal. Never heard of a "SURPRISE" vow renewal? Well, neither have we. Ross, married for 6 years with 2 kids and one on the way, was taking his wife on a long-anticipated vacation to Hawaii. He emailed me asking if we could help him organize a surprise vow renewal for his wife. They were actually staying on the Big Island (hey, my home island...woohoo) but were visiting Oahu for one day. She, apparently is a history buff and they wanted to see Pearl Harbor. Which reminds me, I've never been there. Shame on me. Ross and I were looking at a few beaches near the airport but he wanted to choose the most scenic beach and make it perfect. So, he rented a convertible and we set the ceremony for the windward side. Sigh, white sandy beaches and the Pacific Ocean the sweetest shade of blue. When the actual day came, she was more than a little surprised. I think it was bordering on shock. They had to take some time to just sit together on the beach and process the whole "hey, sweetie, we're getting married again in Hawaii." And then she was ready to get started.

My husband, Scott, performed the vow renewal and they stood on the white sandy shore with absolutely no one around them. I wasn't close enough to hear the ceremony over the sound of the ocean, but just watching this couple together was joyful. She was absolutely sweet and so beautiful. They're expecting their third child this spring and she's still so petite. Even before I met them, I knew he adored her from the way he speaks of her. But watching them, you could see it over and over. He gazed at her like she was the only thing he could see. *sigh* Love. *sigh*

I'm working on the photos now because but here's a sneak peak. I think these, by far, are my three favorite of the whole batch.

Surprise Vow Renewal in two days!!!

We just booked a small destination wedding on Thursday, actually, a vow renewal. We don't have too many vow renewals. Scott had his first vow renewal about two months ago and he came home beaming, he loved the couple. He was re-inspired by their love and their dedication to each other after years of being together. So, I was really fired up when I received an email from Ross. He's been married for four years and he's taking his wife on a well-deserved vacation to Hawaii. He came up with the idea of giving her the wedding in paradise that she never had as a surprise. Isn't that the sweetest thing you've ever heard. Scott has been in Japan on a missions trip for our church so I've had to make the arrangements myself. They are actually vacationing on the Big Island but are visiting Oahu for the day. For selfish reasons, I'm also getting so excited to take pictures. Wedding season slows down after summer's ends and I miss the thrill of photo sessions. I wish it was Thursday already.

    Babies in the wash

My husband, Scott, is on a mission trip to Sapporo, Japan with a small team from our church, Hope Chapel. Leaving me with way too much time on my hands so I fill my days with exciting stuff like cleaning out our closet and organizing my drawers. Party at my house, huh?

I purchased a new lens recently and was so excited that I got a chance to use it yesterday. My twin nieces turned 4 months old a week ago. I always take pictures of them in Darilyn's room because she has the most light. This week, I was a little surprised to see she had a black sheet on her bed so it was a new background for me. I used Darilyn's hot pink laundry basket with a pillow in it and a white puffy "winter coat?" she had. Why does she need a winter coat? She lives in Waipahu!!! Well, it worked in my favor.

I think sibling rivalry is setting in a little more as the twins get older. Lauren, who for a year and a half was my only photography subject now finds herself sharing the spotlight with not just one, but two more girls. I think she misses being the center of attention, what do you think?

7 month old tot-Cute gift idea for football fanatic fathers

If you have seen the glowing anticipation on certain faces, particularly my husband, you know that UH football season has begun. As my husband, Scott, informed me while we were doing our pre-marital sessions, he said "Keao, when you marry me, you marry UH football." And, yes, UH did get trounced in their first game away against the Florida Gators (was that really such a shocker?), my marriage vows did promise through better or worse.

This morning we babysat a familiar face, our friend's baby girl "Haley." As a personal gift, I take her monthly pictures and I'm creating a baby photo album to document her first year. I also use it to continue practicing and growing in photography. This little girl is from a family avidly dedicated to UH football, especially her grandpa. So as an adorable gift that every proud grandpa with football running through his veins, I took UH football themed portraits of Haley. Our photo session didn't last as long as I wanted because she was hungry (You'll see what I mean by the first photo) but we got some adorable captures that I know will look great framed our her grandpa's wall.

She seems to love the taste of plastic. She sampled all our remotes. This is my lens backing.

    Yummmyyyy!!! So 'ono.

    Go warriors!!!

The next generation in Warrior fans.

    Hi Little Miss Sunshine!!!!

    Miles of smiles

Okay, this last one is not completely football themed, but she's just so pretty in it...this one has to go on my blog.
